Database and installation requirements

You must use a new database for Interchange to integrate with PassPort. You cannot upgrade from a previous version of Interchange and use the same database as before.

When installing Interchange, you must select the PassPort option. You cannot integrate with PassPort unless this option was selected during installation. During installation, you must also specify the host name and port for PassPort.

After installing Interchange, do not start Interchange server until after completing the configuration tasks described in Steps after installation.

Your user license specifies whether or not you can integrate with PassPort and the level of integration. During installation, you choose which parts of PassPort to integrate with (AM, PM, PS). After installing and completing the post-installation steps, there is a page in the Interchange user interface for changing integration parameters. You cannot, however, turn off integration once engaged.

Upgrading does not support changing the state of PassPort integration. Any of the following cases require re-installing with a fresh database:
